Wilkin and Sons Ltd received its first Royal Warrant from George V in 1911 and each subsequent monarch has maintained the tradition.

The Wilkin family have been farming at Tiptree, Essex, since 1757, and making quality preserves there since 1885.

The business grows a wide range of traditional English fruits and uses them to make conserves, condiments, and other products in its nut-free factory by the farm.

Tiptree preserves are sold worldwide and fruit is also grown for the retail market.

Walter Scott, chairman of Wilkin and Sons and grantee of the Royal Warrant, said:

“We are honoured and proud that His Majesty has granted us his Warrant. Every member of staff understands the importance of this and we are delighted to continue this tradition.”

Sister companies include: Thursday Cottage, Cole’s Puddings, and Tiptree Patisserie, and there is an estate of Tiptree tea rooms throughout East Anglia.

Wilkin and Sons Ltd said: “A Royal Warrant has, for us, always been the best indicator of quality and service and this is recognised by customers both at home and across the globe.

“It is also a reflection of a strong ethical and environmentally sustainable approach, which is very much aligned to our values.

“Every member of our team takes pride in our Royal Warrant, particularly so when we have been lucky enough to have received a visit from a member of the royal family.”
