Havant Garden Centre is expected to open in March as the team works to reset and stock the site.
British Garden Centres confirmed that the business will retain all the current centre teams, and due to the expected growth of the site, there will be further recruitment.
The Morpeth site is set to open in early to mid-March and will revert back to its original name of Heighley Gate Garden Centre, with the group very much wishing to embrace the heritage of the site.
British Garden Centres said that it is retaining the existing centre team and looks forward to working with them to build on the existing strengths of the site, ensuring it will become a “top destination” garden centre.
‘Another exciting step’
Charles Stubbs, founder and director of British Garden Centres, said: “This acquisition marks another exciting step in our growth as a leading player in UK garden retail. We’re thrilled to welcome the Havant team to the British Garden Centres family and look forward to building on the strong foundations they already have in place.
“To reach 70 centres is a huge achievement for our family-run business. This would not be possible without our amazing team and the passion they have for what we do. A huge thank you must go to our suppliers who have been so supportive as we have grown over the last few years, for which we will always be grateful.”
